Eat, play Love by Zina Garrison Academy

Before there was  Serena Williams there was Zina Garrison. Since retiring from tennis, The Legendary former tennis player,  has done a lot to empower the Houston community. One of these include co-founding the Zina Garrison Academy foundation. This foundation helps under privileged inner city kids have access to lessons and life skills so that they can grow into young adults that are empowered.

During the weekend of March 2nd, Zina’s Foundation held the eat play and Love event. The line up included, tennis lessons, a vip dinner and grand finale fashion show that showcased local designers. All events were held at private mansions. I had the the honor of attending the VIP dinner event

Every guest received valet services. They were then greeted by welcoming staff that served delicious appetizers, choice of cocktails or a flick or two on the red carpet. Legendary Martina Navratilova graced the red carpet and spoke about how the foundation helped kids who otherwise would have no access to tennis get the chance. In addition they also got lessons on how to be better contributors in communities they lived in. Zina also elaborated on how she herself was a product of a foundation similar to Zina Garrison Academy. And the endless possibilities that can arise from giving inner city kids opportunities like she was given and years later was at the Winter Olympics. Talk about inspiration and motivation.

Then it networking with all the guests inside the house. A live band was playing outside where they had wine stations, tequila pretty much whatever you fancied as we waited to eat dinner that was made by celebrity chef Michael Gabriel former Hells Kitchen contestant.

All in all it was a humbling experience and motivational. To find out more information or how you can help the Zina foundation please visit www.zinagarrison.org or email Zina@zinagarrison.org Thank you for stopping by and thank you to www.lemonlimelightmedia.com for making this possible

BossLife Ball 2018

On January 14, Hollywood made its entrance to the beautiful city of Houston for a great cause. Big names in the entertainment and the business world showed up to support  5th Annual Boss Life Ball Foundation gala

The evening kicked off with an exclusive red carpet that was produced by Lemon-Lime Light Media  http://www.lemonlimelightmedia.com and featured special guests such Slim Thug, LisaRaye McCoy, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Houston Texans Player Deshaun Watson,  Original Houston Texans Player Chester Pitts, Comedian Ali Siddiq, Aventer Gray of Lakewood Church, Television Personality Miss Mykie, and honorees Bun B, Tillman Fertitta, & Daymond John.

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee expressed happy thoughts towards The Boss Life Foundation prior to awarding the foundation with a proclamation. “Boss Life is the kind of foundation that brings all of you, the prestigious boxing world, the faith community, business, and many of us together.”

Throughout the night The Boss Life Foundation presented Boss Awards to those who have excelled in their industries. The acceptance speeches of the night definitely left lasting impressions on attendee’s hearts. Jimbo and J Mac, from 97.9 The Box, kept their speech entertaining with an impromptu freestyle.

At the end of the night, Daymond John made sure everyone was still focused on the issue at hand and did not forget to donate to The Boss Life Foundation scholarship fund, “It doesn’t matter how much you give no one knows but you.
